Before you scroll down into the rules, I want to tell you what we are actually building here, because the rules only exist to protect it.

Basecamp is where we want the outdoor community to feel at home. Hunters, hikers, makers, outfitters, weekend wanderers, and folks who are brand new to all of it. The plan was never to build another feed to scroll past or another place to go argue with strangers. There are plenty of those already. We wanted a place that feels like the conversations that actually matter to us. The ones that happen around a fire after a long day, at the trailhead before sunrise, or at camp when someone finally connects on the elk they have been chasing for three seasons.

This is a place to share the good stuff. The trip that went exactly right and the one that fell apart. The gear that earned its place in your pack and the gear that let you down. The first harvest, the hard lessons, the photo you cannot stop looking at. Tell your stories here. Ask the questions you think are too basic to ask, because somebody in this community has been exactly where you are and is glad to help. Every seasoned outdoorsman and woman started as a beginner who did not know what they did not know.

We want Basecamp to be uplifting. Not soft, not fake, just genuinely good to be a part of. A place where you leave a thread feeling more capable, more connected, and more fired up to get back outside than when you showed up. We want new folks to feel welcomed, makers and outfitters to feel like full members of the community, and everyone to walk away knowing this is a place worth coming back to.

The rules below exist for one reason: to keep this place that good. Read them, take them seriously, and then get to the fun part. Share what you know. Learn something new. Build the kind of community we would all be proud to be part of.
